Introduction
This smoothie is very nutritious, and vitamin packed. This smoothie can be adapted so it is dairy free, and also it uses fruit that would otherwise have to be thrown away, so it is a win on all counts.
Tools
This recipe does not need very many tools, so to speak but here is a list of the tools you do need
- Food Processer or smoothie maker
- Butter knife
- Plate
That is all the tools you need, but what ingredients do you need? Here is a list.
Ingredients
- 4 Bananas
- A handful of blueberries
- A handful of raspberries
- 500ml Milk or oat milk (I used oat milk, but you could use normal milk instead)
- Vanilla extract (about 1 teaspoon)
- A dash of cream (optional)
- A handful of strawberries (optional) (I didn’t but you could add them in as well)
Once you have gathered all your ingredients and tools together. We can start making! So, let’s get stuck in.
Method
- Cut up the bananas (4 of them) on the plate using the butter knife and put them into the blender.
- Add in some raspberries whatever amount seems right
- Then add in some blueberries (a handful)
- Then add in the milk (or oat milk) (I used 500 millilitres which was just enough to cover the fruit so just cover the fruit)
- Add the cream (if using) if not using skip this step
- Add in the vanilla extract
- Whiz the mixture around until smooth
- Serve and enjoy
So, there you go you have made a healthy and yummy snack to drink and enjoy.
Storing
It is best to drink this straight away. Or you can pour into lolly moulds and put in the freezer to make ice lollies.
Variations
You can substitute oat milk for cow milk and vice versa, you can add cream, you can add other fruits such as strawberries, or if you do not have blueberries, you can leave them out. There is lots of room for experiment. So please tell me any of your experience with this recipe and if you have any other good recipes you want to see up here, please leave a comment and maybe one day I will write a special blog post for that one
See you next time JK
